If your playlists lean toward hazy guitars, massive soundscapes, and songs that somehow make you feel nostalgic for moments you haven’t lived yet, you’ll want to catch MELTT when they hit Commonwealth Bar & Stage on Friday, August 14.
The Vancouver quartet are back with their upcoming third album, Pathways, and it’s shaping up to be their most ambitious release yet. Fans who’ve been around since Visions will recognize the band’s signature dreamy sound, but Pathways pushes things even further, bigger textures, deeper emotions, and a willingness to let a little darkness creep in.
The album explores everything from relationships and loss to trying to figure out life as you get older (because apparently adulthood keeps happening whether we’re ready or not). It’s honest, atmospheric, and exactly the kind of record that sounds even better live.
Whether you’ve been following MELTT for years or you’re just discovering them, this is one of those shows worth checking out.
