This song ended up on the cutting room floor a few years ago and unfortunately we never found a home for it in the context of any of our recent albums, but we’ve always loved this song and wanted to find a way to release it. I wrote it a couple years ago, the day after I stupidly broke up with my now-extremely-pregnant fiance. This song is not as sad to me anymore because I know how the story unfolds, but I love how it captures the mood of a really tender time in my life when everything felt like it was crumbling to pieces – at my own hand.

One Weekend Only artist, Said the Whale, will release Cascadia Deluxe which will include five additional tracks not originally featured on Cascadia. The record is due Friday (September 27th). Said the Whale will play Bo’s Bar and Stage with Tokyo Police Club’s Dave Monks on October 6th.
