20 years ago on November 22nd, 1997 the lives of the youth changed forever when indie/emo kings Death Cab For Cutie played their first gig at The Pacer House in Bellingham, Washington
When talking about the gig, Ben Gibbard said “None of us thought we were starting a band nor did our ambitions for DCFC extend very far past this particular evening. We simply thought it would be fun to play these songs for our friends before moving on to other things” but it turned into so much more. A band that is still recording, and touring today (minus one founding member…but still)
What’s really neat is that Death Cab For Cutie have a rare audio recording of that very first show which you can hear….here.
