The 14th Annual Fairy Tales Queer Film Festival returns to the Plaza Theatre May 24-June 2!

The Fairy Tales Queer Film Festival includes screenings, artist talks, panels, galas and more. This year, check out awesome documentaries about previously unsung heroes such as the late author and activist Vito Russo, drummer Patty Schemel from Hole, and the late “true fairy of rock” Jobriath!

DR. EP SCARLETT HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS HOST BENEFIT CONCERT TO SUPPORT WATER INFRASTRUCTURE IN LITEIN, KENYA

EVENT: FREEDOM IS WATER, MAY 3^RD, 2012

Sally Maxwell, Sarah Palichuk, Charlotte Hobson, Kate Gibson, and Kaedy Long, five students from Dr. E P Scarlett high school are raising money for a dormitory that has recently been built at the Chelilis Girls School in Litein, Kenya.

By hosting a benefit concert, this group, Freedom is Water, has featured student artists from around Calgary, along with local artists including Samantha Savage Smith, SAVK, The Magnetic North, and Reuben Bullock, in their hopes of raising $5000. On May 3^rd at Dr. EP Scarlett High School this incredible night full of music, food, and a raffle will be held.

On May 3^rd at Dr. EP Scarlett High School in Canyon Meadows: the doors will open at 6:00 pm with music starting around 6:30 pm.
