And I thought I was the only one who felt this way. Also: I like to walk up an escalator, not just stand there. Because then I get to the top REALLY fast. Why is it in Calgary people feel the need to just kick back, relax and ride it? It’s like standing on the moving sidewalk at the airport! Move it folks!

So much thanks to Helen Tseng for this.

I always thought the escalator was designed for efficiency, you walk up the stairs at normal rate but get there faster. I found it the worst in Calgary for people riding the escalator, and it’s actually about half the speed of walking up a normal staircase. It comes off as the ultimate in laziness in my opinion, they already removed almost half the number of steps you would climb but that still isn’t enough.
