Meet this genius by the name of William Bonner. He and his bros are knocking back some drinks on the weekend when he bets his friends he can dump a shot of Bacardi 151 on his head and light it on fire. His friends apparently didn’t believe him and went through with it. Bonner (I’m going to pretend one of the “n”‘s is silent) dumped the booze on his head as well as a lit match and proceeded to light up like the Calgary Tower. Then he went searching for beer to dump on his head. He went to the hospital in critical condition.
Banksy could be the most popular graffiti artist in the world. His though provoking, often humorous, pieces have been popping up all over the world since the early 90′s. He’s never officially been photographed and has never appeared in public. With the Olympics headed to Banksy’s home town of London, England, he’s pounded out two new pieces on the games. Apparently British officials are set to cover them up before the games get under way.
A listener sent me the link to this cool blog from a toy maker/designer who at one time got a nod from Pepsi to do some promotional stuff for Episode 1 when it was coming out. Apparently Pepsi decided to go with something else, but the dude has shared some of the ideas he and his partner came up with. All I can say is:
It was Comic-Con this past week in San Diego. It’s the mother of all Comic-Cons and features everything from sneak peaks to video games and movies to actors, artists and writers meeting with their fans. I’ve never been to a Comic event aside from Calgary’s awesome Comic Book Expo, but one thing I love the most is all the fantastic costumes and cosplay. I09 has posted a whole bunch and I selected a few of my favorites from the bunch.I always enjoy someone who does something different with their costume instead of the old standard.
7) Metal Gear Bad Guys
What was that?
6) Double Catwomen
Double the fun?
5) Female Han Solo
You've never heard of the Millenium Falcon before?
4) Leisure Suit Star Wars
These guys should host a party. DJ'ed by these guys....
I’ve seen this on a couple other blogs and thought I’d share it with you. Very cool. However I’m not sure if I’d call some of the riffs “classic”, like Reptilla by The Strokes?
This appears to be real. I haven’t seen it in Canada but the writing is all in English so I’m guessing it’s somewhere in the US, however according to the video, it’s in Singapore. From what it looks like, you pay a dollar for a tub of hot mashed potatoes squished out of a machine, then another dollar for what’s called “gravy”. According to the instructions on the machine:
1. Place the cup under the nozzle.
2. Press the “Mashed Potatoes” button once.
3. Chicken gravy will be dispensed after 2 seconds.
