A German toymaker has unveiled a controversial new range of animals which all have psychiatric illnesses.

The toys – suffering from everything from bipolar disorder to acute depression – come with their own medical history, a referral letter and a treatment plan.

“It started as a bit of a joke with my girlfriend who has lots of soft toys and then we thought there could be something in the idea,” Martin Kittsteiner told CEN.

“Children and grown-ups like their vulnerability and find something in them that gives them a great sense of comfort in helping to heal them.”

‘Patients’ from the Paraplush toy company include Dub the turtle with severe depression, Sly the snake who suffers from terrifying hallucinations, Dolly the sheep with a multiple personality disorder and a crocodile with an irrational fear of water.

Today we were talking about my buddy Kris and how he wants to be Zombie Jesus for Halloween this year. I got a call from a dude who said if you are any form of Jesus you’re a slacker and trying to be funny.  When you think about it Jesus does have a pretty easy get-up to pull off, minus the powers and all.  I mentioned Dr. Phil and he (caller man) thinks that going as Phil for the big day will earn you more laughs than Jesus.  Just then! Disney is promoting their upcoming film Tron:Legacy by hosting  “ElecTRONica” dance parties on the Hollywood Pictured Backlot in their California Adventure theme park.

Here’s a statement from the DisneyParks Blog:

It’s an “electrifying” experience for the entire family, filled with music, lights and some of your favorite food and beverage, all set amidst the captivating world of “TRON: Legacy!” From a dazzling dance club under the stars to an authentic recreation of Flynn’s Arcade to some radical gaming, it’s like nowhere else on the grid! Each night, we’ll feature live entertainers, complete with lasers, glow accessories and the hottest music ever to rock the grid. ElecTRONica is “the” place to dance the night away in a fantastic world that only Disney can create. Highlights for the entire family will definitely be Flynn’s Video Arcade, face painting and the TRON: Evolution video game area.

ElecTRONica will transform Disney California Adventure park Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays this Fall. TRON fans and families can also enjoy the party seven days a week during Thanksgiving week and Christmas week.
