It was shocking news today to receive that phone call that Chester Bennington, frontman of Linkin Park, was found dead today. It is difficult to imagine being this man’s loved ones. His friends. Family. Bandmates. These people who spent countless hours with Chester on the road, in the studio, pouring their hearts into every piece of music they made together.
Early reports say that Chester Bennington committed suicide. But that is all that’s known at the moment. Chester has had substance abuse problems in the past, and everyone has their demons. However, the band just released a new album One More Light – and even planned tour dates – so this is a shock to everyone close to Chester, and his fans. You can read more about the incident here, and as news gets released, we will share with you. In the mean time, scream along to some old Linkin Park for old times sake.
The death of Chester comes on the same day as what would have been Chris Cornell’s birthday. Eerie timing given that Chester has performed a tribute at Cornell’s funeral, as well as in the past, both Linkin Park and Chris Cornell performed Hunger Strike together:
Although it may seem like it, suicide is not the answer. Please know this.
