#10: The Strokes – Gratisfaction
#9: Bob Marley – Stir It Up
Who doesn’t love a little Stoke on vacation? Haha, get it? Yea you do.
If you don’t have any Marley on your vacation playlist, then you’re clearly not vacationing in Denver.
#8: Mark Ronson ft. Kevin Parker – Leaving Los Feliz
#7: Ice Cube – It Was A Good Day
Mark Ronson is the man behind the undeniably catchy summer hit “Uptown Funk”. On the same record he teamed up with Kevin Parker from Tame Impala for this jam. It’s perfect for topping up that Bubba Keg Thermos packed in your carry-on. Is that 2 bananas in that drink? No. It’s 3.
Hey Ice! You may not be good enough for an Oscar, but you’re good enough for me buddy.
#6: Wavves – Way Too Much
#5: Sublime – Badfish
Wavves makes great surf rock for when you want to pretend that you didn’t spend 5 years of your life thinking “Hang 10″ was a phone plan. Hey bro, added you to my hang 10!
Sublime and Marley in the same playlist? Someone better pack some pizza pockets.
#4: The Rolling Stones – Emotional Rescue
#3: Tame Impala – Feels Like We Only Go Backwards
That little senorita bringing you drinks at the drop of a dime (an american dime) is your emotional rescue.
For when that tequila has you feeling a tad backwards.
#2: Cage The Elephant – That’s Right
#1: Fidlar – No Waves
Cage The Elephant always makes great warm weather music. This track off the new album Tell Me I’m Pretty is no exception, a great tune for picking sand out of your genitals.
I would skinny dip with No Waves, but I just don’t have that confidence in myself.
Bonus After Dark Track: Arctic Monkeys – Baby, I’m Yours
The sun has gone down, you and your sweetheart are back in the room lying in bed stuffing room service chicken wings in your face. This is the jam. Or if you’re like me and alone, this is the perfect jam for changing the sheets after last nights ‘accident’.
There you have it, the songs I’ll be listening to this vacation. If you like them feel free to add them to your own warm weather playlist! And if you don’t, oh well, it’s my vacation not yours.
